Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-29 and DPR-30 NRC Docket Nos. 50-254 and 50-265 Certification of Permanent Cessation of Power Operations On June 2, 2016, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) announced that it plans to close the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station (QCNPS), Units 1 and 2 due to deteriorating economics.
Therefore, pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(a)(1 )(i) and 10 CFR 50.4(b)(8), EGC certifies to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission that it has decided to permanently cease power operations at QCNPS, Units 1 and 2 by June 1, 2018.
There are no regulatory commitments contained in this submittal.
