Dear Mr. Tucker:

SUBJECT:

AUDIT OF OCONEE NUCLEAR STATION PROGRAM FOR PREVENTION OF BORIC ACID CORROSION (TAC Nos. 68931, 68932, and 68933)

In a letter dated February 23, 1989, you were informed that Oconee Nuclear Station (ONS) had been selected for an audit of the boric acid corrosion prevention program as implemented at ONS. The audit had been tentatively scheduled for August 1989.

In telephone discussions between myself and Paul Guill of your staff, we have confirmed the dates of the audit as August 1 and 2, 1989. The audit will be conducted by Krysztof Parczewski of the Materials and Chemical Engineering Branch of NRR and assisted by Milt Schuster of Brookhaven National Laboratory.

I will also be present during the audit. 'The audit will consist of verifying the implementation of the program you previously submitted in response to Generic Letter 88-05. Escorted access to the plant will be required. If you have any questions concerning this audit, please contact me at (301) 492-1493.

Sincerely, Leonard A. Wiens, Project Manager Project Directorate 11-3 Division of Reactor Projects-I/II Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation cc:
