MEETING ON PROBALISTIC RISK ASSESSMENT STUDY ON OCONEE UNIT 3 We have been reviewing the Probalistic Risk Assessment (PRA) report, NSAC/60-SY on Oconee Unit 3 that was co-sponsored by Duke Power Company and the Nuclear Safety Analysis Center. We have been reviewing the PRA study with assistance from our consultant, Brookhaven National Laboratory. We have reached a point in our evaluation where the staff needs to visit the Oconee Nuclear Station to become familiar with the major safety systems, components

-and structures at Oconee and to discuss selected assumptions used in the PRA on the failure of frontline and support systems which contribute to the dominate accident sequences for core damage. We have enclosed (Enclosure 1) a list of areas and specific components which the review team would like to visit. The members of the team which will be visiting Oconee are included in. We have been discussing this meeting with your staff and May 7 and 8, 1985 have been selected as the dates being mutually acceptable.
