HOPE CREEK GENERATING STATION AND SALEM NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION, UNIT NOS. 1AND2- REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING REVIEW OF SECURITY PLAN, REVISION 17, CHANGES (CAC NOS. MF7010, MF7011, AND MF7012)

Dear Mr. Sena:

By letter dated September 21, 2015, 1 PSEG Nuclear LLC (the licensee) submitted Revision 17 of the Security Plan, Training and Qualification Plan, and Safeguards Contingency Plan and Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation Security Program, for the Hope Creek Generating Station and Salem Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, pursuant to the requirements of Title 1O of the Code of Federal Regulations (1 O CFR) Section 50.54(p)(2).

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is currently reviewing the submittal to ensure compliance with 10 CFR 50.54(p)(2) and has determined that additional information is needed to complete its review of the submittal. The specific questions are found in the enclosed request for additional information (RAI). The draft RAI was sent by electronic transmission to Mr. Paul Duke of your staff on April 19, 2016. The draft RAI was sent to ensure that the request was understandable, the regulatory basis was clear, and to determine if the information was previously docketed. On April 22, 2016, the NRC conducted a conference call with the licensee to clarify the RAI questions. On April 26, 2016, Mr. Duke indicated that the licensee will submit a response to this request within 45 days of the date of this letter.
