LTR - FPL - St Lucie 15-2015.pdf; LTR - FPL - St Lucie 15-2015 - L-2015-303 PSL AFW LAR TS correction.pdf Ms. Becker:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission plans to issue Amendments to Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-67 and NPF-16 for St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (St. Lucie) approximately on February 29, 2016, in response to the Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) application dated July 15, 2015 (Agencywide Documents and Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML15198A028), as supplemented by letter dated December 15, 2015 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16005A146). See the attached letters to save searching through ADAMS.
Specifically, the proposed amendments would modify the St. Lucie Technical Specifications (TSs) by bringing about consistency in the required actions for inoperability of auxiliary feedwater (AFW) pumps. These amendments align the St. Lucie Unit 1 TSs with NUREG-0212, Revision 2 (Fall 1980), Standard Technical Specifications for Combustion Engineering Pressurized Water Reactors, on which the St. Lucie Unit 2 TSs are based, with respect to the required action for the condition where all three AFW pumps are inoperable in Modes 1, 2, and 3.
If the State of Florida has any comments regarding these amendment requests, please e-mail me your comments by the close of business on February 5, 2016.
Thanks.
