RE: Request: Illinois River reports

Phil, I have attached a Microsoft Excel worksheet containing CPU EN data for three sites in the Marseilles Reach during 1993-2012: Ballards Island, Johnson Island, and Waupecan Island. Each of these sites were sampled once a year using a boat-mounted three-phase AC electrofishing apparatus. In most years, these sites were sampled for exactly one hour, however there were a few years when our biologists were forced to cut their electrofishing runs short (45-60 mai). These sampling sites are located in side-channel habitats, directly adjacent to the main channel of the Illinois River. As we discussed in our phone conversation, these AC electrofishing data represent our longest-term data sets. We started the pulsed DC electrofishing survey in 2009 and we have collected fishes at randomly selected sites in the Marseilles Reach. But I'm not sure that any robust temporal comparisons can be made with :these more recently acquired data.

I hope these data are what you are after. If not, please let me know and I'll do my best to get you the correct information as quickly as possible. Have a nice afternoon.

Request: Illinois River reports Hi Phil, I cannot confirm this, but I will pass this email on via cc to Mark.Fritts in hopes that he can shed some light on the details and answer your questions.

Thanksl April Mark, could you please address the list of questions that Mr. Moore has regarding the LTEF project and reports? Thank youl April On 6/24/2013 9:37 AM, Moore, Phil wrote:

Ms Burgett, This is all very confusing to a non-Illinoisan, in part because the numbering of the reports is confusing {project report R-23 is INHS Technical Report 2012(22)}, and in part because the Long-term Illinois River Fish Population Monitoring Program Reports apparently became the Long-term Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Wabash Rivers Fish Population Monitoring Program Reports in 2011.

The 2011 Long-term Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Wabash Rivers Fish Population Monitoring Program Report (for surveys conducted in 2011/2011 data) is on the web.

It is attached.

So I apparently have the latest report in the series (and reports with data thru 2008),

and am missing reports with 2009 and 2010 data?

Could you please confirm that the Illinois River series of fish population monitoring

reports became the "amalgamated" report (four river systems) in 2011?

I'm afraid I'm missing something and will be flogged by bosses for doing so.

Thanks in advance for your assistance, Phil Moore From: April M. Burgett [2]

Fwd: Re: Request: Illinois River reports Mr. Moore, Please see the message below regarding the most current reports you were looking for. Looks like you may have to wait until the INHS releases them and makes them available due to a contractual obligation to let authors publish the first year or so.

Thank you for your interest in our project!

April, I don't think he can download them because there is a 2-3 year hold on technical reports after they are submitted as to allow the authors first dibs to publish. I am forwarding this to Mark Fritts, LTEF coordinator on the project, so he can keep track of requests for next year's report.

Hi Nerissal I was hoping you could tell me if you have a pdf that could be shared of the reports Mr. Moore lists in the email below that he is wanting for LTEF from 2010 and 2011? I know we probably have the paper copies here that I could mail him, but he wants electronic versions. If you have them, that would be awesome.

Dear Ms Burgett,

I have been trying today to download the various annual and summary reports of The Long-term Illinois River Fish Population Monitoring Program. I have been able to locate and download reports dating back to the early 1990s from various websites, chiefly the IDEALS and the Illinois Natural History Survey websites.

I have been unable to find two of the reports in the series:

McCleIland, MA and GG Sass. 2010. The long-term Illinois River fish population monitoring program. Project F-101-R-21 Annual Report to the Illinois Dept of Natural Resources. Illinois Natural History Survey Technical Report 2010 (28). University of Illinois, Institute of Natural Resource Sustainability, Illinois NatI History

Survey, Champaign. 80 pp.

and Michaels, NN, et al. 2011. The long-term Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Wabash River fish population monitoring program. Project F-10&-R-22 Annual Report to the Illinois Dept of Natural Resources. Prairie Research Institute Technical Report 23. Illinois Natural History Survey. Champaign. 110 pp.

Could you please direct me to downloadable versions of these reports or explain how I might purchase them?
