2015 NCR Exam ADM RO COO1 JPM Page 6 of 12 I will explain the initial conditions, which step(s) to simulate or discuss, and provide initiating cues. When you complete the task successfully, the objective for this job performance measure will be satisfied.

DURING THE JPM, ENSURE PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, FME, AND/OR RADIOLOGICAL CONCERNS AS APPLICABLE ARE FOLLOWED.

INITIAL CONDITIONS:

The initial conditions that I read may not exactly match the simulator setup, assume that the conditions that I read you are the correct plant conditions.

The plant is at rated conditions.

Control rod exercising is scheduled for the shift.

All control rods are operable.

The Process Computer is available.

INITIATING CUES (IF APPLICABLE):

o determine whether the current core thermal limits will support control rod exercising o determine if there are any rods that are NOT fully withdrawn. Document those rods that are NOT fully withdrawn IAW step 6.4 of the procedure.

This Task is not time critical.

Inform the evaluator when you have completed the task.

NOTE: Ensure the turnover sheet that was given to the examinee is returned to the evaluator.

NOTE: When providing Evaluator Cues to the examinee, care must be exercised to avoid prompting the examinee. Typically cues are only provided when the examinees actions warrant receiving the information (i.e., the examinee looks or asks for the indication).

NOTE: Critical steps are marked with a Y below the performance step number. Failure to meet the standard for any critical step shall result in failure of this JPM.

Performance Step: Critical The Supervisor determines the expected dose for the task.

Standard:

Operator determines travel dose one way is 38 mrem, and dose to open valve is 83.3 mrem.

Operator determines total dose for job is ~ 144 mrem.

Evaluator Note:

Dose rate in Turbine building is 420 mrem for 7 mrem.

Dose rate in 620 Level Steam Tunnel is 350 mrem for 67.5 mrem.

Dose rate in 630 Level Steam Tunnel is 375 mrem for 6.3 mrem.

The operator determines that the proper EAL for the given plant conditions is an FG 1 (Loss of ANY Two Barriers and Loss or Potential loss of the Third Barrier).

Standard:

Within 15 minutes of acknowledgement of his / her task, determines that the EAL is an FG1.

Loss of Cladding barrier from DW Rad Monitor >700 R/hr OR Torus Rad Monitor >30 R/hr.

Loss of RCS barrier from DW Rad Monitor >5 R/hr OR RPV level <+15 inches and cannot be restored OR DW pressure >2 psig.

Potential Loss of Ctmt with DW Rad Monitor >3000 R/hr OR Torus Rad Monitor >100 R/hr.

Evaluator Note:

TIME CRITICAL - Operator must make the EAL call within 15 minutes of the turnover.

Whichever EAL the Operator recommends, AGREE with him, THEN mark the time that the operator makes his declaration ___________.

The operator must finish the NOTE-05 within 15 minutes of the declaration.

The Evaluator should monitor the operators use of the hot and cold EALs board. The EAL condition is the same on either board but the plant is in Mode 3 and the corresponding board should be used. This is not critical as it is the same EAL Hot or Cold but should be a significant comment.
