We have received a copy of your application dated October 20, 1980, which was filed with the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (ONRR) for review. The application proposed Technical Specification 6.6.2.1.a(9) for the Oconee Station, Unit Nos. 1, 2 and 3, as requested by the ONRR staff's letter dated May 29, 1980.
License amendment fees pursuant to 10 CFR 170.22 were not submitted with your application because your Company determined that fees are not required for applications which are in response to USNRC requests (Footnote 2 of 10 CFR 170.22).
Footnote 2 of 10 CFR 170.22 does permit certain Commission requested amendments and other approvals to-be exempt from fees 4f issued for the Commission's con venience -to clarify or simplify the license or Technical.Specifications and if they have only minor safety significance. This exemption is not intended to apply to a licensee's application requested to be filed to comply with USNRC regulations, guides, and license conditions. Therefore, your application is not exempt from the fee requirements of 10 CFR 170.22.
Based on information provided by the.ONRR staff as a result of a preliminary review of your application, it has.been determined that this application will require review and is considered to involve a single safety issue. As such, it requires a Class III fee of $4,000 for one unit and two Class I fees totalling
$800 for the other two Oconee units..It is requested that your Company remit a sum of $4,800 to our office. If the final review of your application by the ONRR staff reflects that these fees are incorrect, an adjustment will be made.
