NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/97-05. 50-270/97-05, AND
50-287/97-05
Dear Mr. McCollum:
Thank you for your response of August 18, 1997, to our Notice of Violation,
issued on July 18, 1997, concerning activities conducted at your Oconee
facility. We have evaluated your response to Violations 97-05-01. 02, 03
(Example 1), and 06 and found that it meets the requirements of 10 CFR 2.201.
We will examine the implementation of your corrective actions for these
O violations during future inspections.
Regarding violation 97-05-03 (Example 2), your response addressed long-term
corrective actions but did not mention the interim measures that will be in
place during the upcoming Unit 1 refueling outage to assure applicable code
case requirements are met prior to returning systems back to service. Based
on a conversation between Mr. W. Foster of your staff and Mr. M. Scott of my
staff on September 2, 1997, we understand that a supplemental response
addressing your interim measures will be provided to this office by
September 16. 1997.
