- Gordon, In accordance with LIC-109, Acceptance Review Procedures, Revision 1, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the acceptance review of the License Amendment Request submitted by [[letter::CNL-14-059, License Amendment Request for the Adoption of Technical Specifications Task Force (TSTF) Traveler TSTF-501 Revision 1, Relocate Stored Fuel Oil and Lube Oil Volume Values to Licensee Control (BFN TS-493)|letter dated December 11, 2014]], from TVA for the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant, Units 1, 2, and 3. The proposed changes would revise Technical Specification (TS) 2.1.1 for all three units, to lower the value of the reactor steam dome pressure safety limit (SL) to 585 psig. The change would resolve the compliance issue outlined in GE Nuclear Energy (GE) 10 CFR Part 21 Reportable Condition Notification MFN 05-021.
A determination has been made by the NRC staff that the amendment request reasonably appears to contain sufficient technical information, both in scope and depth, for the NRC staff to complete the detailed technical review and render, in an appropriate time frame for the associated action, an independent assessment of the proposed action with regard to applicable regulatory requirements and the protection of public health, safety, and security.
If additional information is needed for the staff to complete its technical review, you will be advised by separate correspondence.
