- Ken, In accordance with LIC-109, Acceptance Review Procedures, Revision 1, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has completed the acceptance review of the License Amendment Request dated July 14, 2014 (ADAMS Accession No. ML14198A074) by Florida Power & Light for St. Lucie Nuclear Plant Units 1 and 2, to TS requirements to address NRC Generic Letter (GL) 2008-01, Managing Gas Accumulation in Emergency Core Cooling, Decay Heat Removal, and Containment Spray Systems, as described in TSTF-523, Revision 2 Generic Letter 2008-01, Managing Gas Accumulation.
A determination has been made by the NRC staff that the amendment request reasonably appears to contain sufficient technical information, both in scope and depth, for the NRC staff to complete the detailed technical review and render, in an appropriate time frame for the associated action, an independent assessment of the proposed action with regard to applicable regulatory requirements and the protection of public health, safety, and security.
If additional information is needed for the staff to complete its technical review, you will be advised by separate correspondence.
