EXTENDED BURNUP TOPICAL REPORT XN-NF-87-17 (TAC NO. 55156)
By letter dated March 20, 1987, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) submitted a topical report entitled "Mechanical Design Report for H. B. Robinson Extended Burnup Assemblies" (XN-NF-87-17). This report described fuel assembly design for extended burnup based on the approved generic topical report XN-NF-82-06, Rev. 1 (Qualification of ANF Fuel for Estimated Burnup Report).
We have completed our review of your submittal for extended fuel burnup for H. B. Robinson, Unit No. 2, and conclude that topical report XN-NF-87-17 is acceptable for extended burnup licensing applications at the H. B. Robinson facility.
The enclosed Safety Evaluation Report documents our findings.
