Dear Mr. Utley:
SUBJECT:
H. B. ROBINSON EXTENDED BURNUP TOPICAL REPORT XN-NF-83-55; (TAC NO. 55156)
We had postponed our review of the H. B. Robinson extended burnup topical report XN-NF-83-55 until the Exxon extended burnup generic report XN-NF-82-06 was completed. We have approved the Exxon report XN-NF-83-06 for referencing in licensing applications. However, we included in the safety evaluation the requirement that any licensee referencing XN-NF-82-06 shall perform plant-specific analysis. Because the H. B. Robinson extended burnup topical report XN-NF-83-55 is almost identical to XN-NF-82-06 in that little plant-specific information or analysis has been provided, we are unable to perform a meaningful review regarding its application to the H.B. Robinson-2 plant.
Therefore, we request that either a plant-specific extended burnup report be resubmitted or that you update report XN-NF-83-55 to provide plant-specific information and analysis so that we can complete our review.
This information request affects fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.
Sincerely, Glode Requa, Project Manager PWR Project Directorate #2 Division of PWR Licensing-A cc: See next page PAD PAD#2r P D#2:D DM
