NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-261/98-01
Dear Mr. Keenan:
On February 14, 1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your H. B. Robinson
reactor facility. You were informed of the inspection findings in an exit
interview conducted on February 27. 1998. The enclosed report presents the
results of that inspection.
.
During the six-week period covered by this inspection period, your conduct of
activities at the H.
B.. Robinson facility was generally characterized by
safety-conscious operations, sound engineering and maintenance practices, and
careful radiological work controls. However, one violation of NRC
.requirements related to Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) was
identified. This issue was initially discussed in NRC Inspection Report
No. 50-261/97-08.
The violation is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice), and the
circumstances surrounding the violation are described in detail in the
enclosed report. Please note that you are required to respond to this letter
and should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed Notice when
preparing your response. Additionally, in your response to the violation,
please include the status of your UFSAR reviews and self-assessment that was
initiated in 1996 following industry wide concerns related to maintaining
updated UFASR. The NRC will use your response, in part, to determine whether
further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory
requirements.
