Palisades Nuclear Plant 27780 Blue Star Memorial Highway Covert, MI 49043-9530 RE: Reported Tritium leaks from pipes onsite at Entergys Palisades Nuclear Plant

Dear Mr. Vitale:

The undersigned Michigan Safe Energy Future - SH members have received word from an unnamed source associated with Entergys Palisades Nuclear Plant that onsite pipes are continuing to leak tritium contributing to the known plume that is running underground. We were also told that Entergy has delayed plans for repair to end the leaks because it is deemed too expensive. This is unacceptable.

Michigan Safe Energy Future members and members of other environmental groups have publicly expressed concerns at numerous NRC and Entergy public venues regarding the known tritium leaks at Palisades. Any leaks of tritium into the ground and into Lake Michigan are unacceptable to the local community members.

Please advise by return mail what Entergy plans are to remedy this problem, the date when the repairs will be made, who will inspect those repairs and when these completed actions will be reported to the community.
