By letter dated May 15, 1986, as modified on April 8, 1987, the Division of PWR Licensing-A notified your Company of their approval of your application dated April 24, 1984 as supplemented, regarding the redesign of your Dedicated Shutdown System for the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station Unit No. 1. This application is subject to the fee provisions of 10 CFR 170.22 of the March 23, 1978 regulations. A separate fee is due since this application represents a revision to your initial June 30, 1982 safe shutdown submittal approved by the staff on November 18, 1982. Therefore, your Company is requested to remit a Class III fee ($4,000) since the review involved consideration of a single safety issue. Your Company has been billed separately for the exemption requests dated October 4, 1985 as supplemented May 30, 1986 pursuant to the revision to 10 CFR 170 which became effective June 20, 1984.
