1.1 T0 provide instruction for-routine surveillance of the following listed items:

1.1.1 Spent Fuel Pit level 1.1.2 Boric Acid Storage Tank Level and Concentration Check.

Routine Test Check-Off" 2.5 SOI-4-14, "Boric Acid Batching" 3.0 PREREQUISITE 3.1 Check that this copy of the instruction Is up-to-date against a controlled copy and review all applicable Temporary Change Notices (TCNs).

3.2 Operations and the Chemistry Department should coordinate the taking of samples and-water levelis to meet the requirements of this Instruction.

4.0 PRECAUTIONS 4.1 A solution of at least 3450 pounds of boric acid in not less than 3500 gallons of water shall be, in the boric acid tank.

Spec. 3.2.A.3).

4.2 The Spent Fuel Pit Water Level shall be >40' 3" (Tech. Spt..

3.8.8.2 and Tech. Spec.. Table 4.1.2, item 14).

4.3 The Refueling Water Storage Tank shall be filled.to at least elevation 50 feet.. (Tech. Spec. 3.3.3).

4.4 When the reactor coolant system temperature is above 200aF (Mode 1-4), the hydrazine tank shall contain not less than 150 gallons of aqueous solution. (Tech. Spec. 3.3.4).

.3.2 Compare the values obtained in the step above to the curve in Attachment 1. "Minimum Boric Acid Concentration" of 501-4-14, "Boric Acid Batchingo, to verify compliance with Tech. Spec. 3.2.A.3.
