INCREASE THE "PRESSURIZER PRESSURE-LOW" TRIP SETPOINTS Re:
San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit No. 1 The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No. 72 to Provisional Operating License No. DPR-13 for San Onofre Unit No. 1. This amendment is in response to your application dated August 10, 1983.
This amendment (1) increases the "Pressurizer Pressure-Low" trip set point in Table 3.5.5-2 of the technical specifications from 1685 psig to 1735 psig, and (2) updates some of the descriptive material in Section 5 of the Technical Specifications. During our review, we dis cussed two changes to the descriptive material in Section 5 with your staff. Based on these discussions, we mutually agreed to these changes.
The specific changes are discussed in the enclosed Safety Evaluation.
A Notice of Consideration of Issuance of Amendment to License and Proposed No Significant Hazards Consideration Determination and Opportunity for Hearing related to the requested action was published in the Federal Register on October 26, 1983 (48 FR49596).
No request for hearing was received and no comments were received.
