Letter from K. P. Baskin, SCE, to D. M. Crutchfield, NRC, dated March 31, 1983 The report submitted via the referenced letter provided an evaluation of pipe break effects outside containment. As indicated in that letter, the evaluation of the effects on portions of the main steam lines downstream of the air wrench valves was not complete. This evaluation has now been completed and a revised table, drawing and other miscellaneous insert pages reflecting this amendment, are enclosed.
The amendment includes a complete revision of the table that has been edited for completeness to include an identification of all break locations analyzed whether essential components are effected or not.
Indication of the break forces and jet loads is not included in the inside containment report and has been deleted from the table for consistency. It has also come to our attention that the evaluation of the gland seal steam lines was based on design conditions rather than normal operating conditions and should therefore not be considered a high energy line. Therefore, the results associated with this line have been removed from the table and other parts of the report.
