FORTHCOMING TELECONFERENCE MEETING WITH FIRSTENERGY NUCLEAR OPERATING COMPANY (TAC NOS. ME9015 AND ME9016)

DATE & TIME: Thursday, October 18, 2012 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.

LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike, Room 014B8 Rockville, Maryland PURPOSE: The purpose of the teleconference meeting between FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC, the licensee), and the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff is to discuss a request for additional information (RAI) sent by the NRC staff to FENOC in draft form (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession No. ML12263A420). The RAJ was sent based on a FENOC letter dated August 29,2012 (ADAMS Accession No. ML12243A245),

requesting an extension for the submittal of a future license amendment request (LAR) involving a transition to National Fire Protection Standard 805, for Beaver Valley Power Station, Units 1 and 2. The projected LAR submission date and the associated requested extension date of enforcement discretion for certain fire protection issues were changed from September 30,2012, to December 31, 2013. The meeting will provide an opportunity for the licensee to discuss the RAJ and the proposed response with the NRC staff.

CATEGORY 1:* This is a Category 1 Meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.
