FW: 7-10-11 Nights.docx Attachments: 7-10-11 Nights.docx Good Morning -

The latest Incident Commander's Report for Fort Calhoun. The river level appears to have dropped slightly from yesterday. I believe that 1006' 0" is a good estimate. The area inside the AquaDam is being pump out and is mostly empty with the exception of the north east comer. They are commencing cleanup of the concrete area in front of the service building today. We will continue to monitor this situation.

Yesterday (Saturday) I drove up to Blair and across the river to Iowa on Highway 30 to assess the condition of that evacuation route. The two lane road is open in both directions and the road surface is dry with no restrictions. They have installed a rock filled barrier on both sides of the road on the shoulder. I would estimate that this barrier is three to four feet high. It extends a mile to a mile and a half along the lowest portion of the road. If the river level doesn't rise significantly, I would say that this arrangement will be effective. There were quite a few folks stopped to take in the view of the new Great Lake that used to be a river.

Have a good Sunday.

Tom.
