FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH THE PETITIONERS, BEYOND NUCLEAR ET AL, REQUESTING ACTION UNDER TITLE 10 OF CODE OF FEDERAL REGULATIONS (10 CFR) 2.206 REGARDING SUSPENSION OF THE OPERATING LICENSES FOR NORTH ANNA POWER STATION (NAPS) DUE TO CONCERNS ABOUT DAMAGE TO THE NAPS REACTORS FROM THE AUGUST 23, 2011, EARTHQUAKE DATE & TIME: Monday, December 12, 2011 2:30 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Commissioners' Conference Room 01F16/01G16 One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville, Maryland 20852 PURPOSE: On October 20, 2011, a 10 CFR 2.206 petition was submitted to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) requesting that the NRC suspend the operating license of Virginia Electric Power Company (VEPCO) for operation of NAPS and suspend restart of NAPS pending emergency enforcement actions (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System Accession No. ML11293A116). The purpose of this meeting is to provide the petitioner with an additional opportunity to address the NRC Petition Review Board (PRB) with additional information in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206.

CATEGORY 3:

  • This is a Category 3 meeting, where the public is normally invited to participate in the meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting. In this instance, the public will have an opportunity to ask questions pertaining to the 10 CFR 2.206 processes, after the petitioner completes his uninterrupted presentation to the PRB.
