RAI regarding TAC No. ME5409 (Harris-M5 cladding)
- Brenda, In an email transmitted September 2, 2011, you issued a request for additional information regarding the Harris Nuclear Plant license amendment request for technical specification 6.9.1.2 to allow the use of M5' alloy for fuel rod cladding.
You requested that CP&L respond within 30 days from the date of the email or request additional time including the basis for why the extension is needed.
CP&L requests an additional 7 calendar days to provide its response to the RAI. During the final reviews of the response to the RAI, information was discovered that requires additional investigation to ensure the response is complete and accurate in all material respects. This additional investigation requires up to 7 additional days.
