Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC Oconee Nuclear Station, Units 1, 2, and 3 Docket Numbers 50-269, 50-270, and 50-287 Letter of Withdrawal of the Proposed Exigent Technical Specification (TS)

Amendment to TS 3.10.1, "Standby Shutdown Facility" License Amendment Request (LAR) No. 2011-09 By letter dated August 12, 2011, Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC, (Duke Energy) submitted License Amendment Request (LAR) 2011-09 regarding a one-time exigent change to the Completion Time (CT) of Technical Specification (TS) 3.10.1, "Standby Shutdown Facility."

This LAR was supplemented on August 16, 2011, and August 18, 2011. The proposed change would have extended the Completion Time (CT) of Required Action (RA) F.1 by up to 48 hours5.555556e-4 days
0.0133 hours
7.936508e-5 weeks
1.8264e-5 months
in order to complete activities needed to restore the Standby Shutdown Facility (SSF) to operable status.

Based on the successful return to operable status of the SSF prior to the expiration of the RA F.1 CT, Duke Energy no longer requires additional time to restore system operability. As such, Duke Energy is withdrawing the LAR.
