Acceptance Review of Limerick Unit 2 Safety Limit Minimum Critical Power Ratio Licensee Amendment Request (TAC No. ME5182)

By letter dated December 15, 2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML103500180), Exelon Generation Company, LLC submitted a license amendment a request (LAR) for Limerick Generatin ng Station (LGS), Unit 2, proposing changes to o the Technical Specifications relating to the safetty limit minimum critical power ratios. The proposed p changes are based on the cycle speciffic analysis performed for the upcoming LGS, Unit 2, Cycle 12.

The purpose of this email is to provid de the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff's acceptance review of thist amendment request. The acceptance review w was performed to determine if there is su ufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed te echnical review. The acceptance review is also in ntended to identify whether the application has any readily apparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory req quirements or the licensing basis of the plant.

The NRC staff has reviewed your ap pplication and concluded that it does provide techhnical information in sufficient detail to ena able the staff to proceed with its detailed technica al review and make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposed liccense amendment in terms of regulatory re equirements and the protection of public health and safety and the environment. If additional in nformation is needed for the staff to complete its ttechnical review, you will be advised by separrate correspondence.
