CALVERT CLIFFS NUCLEAR POWER PLANT, UNIT NOS. 1 AND 2 EXEMPTION FOR USE OF M5 CLADDING (TAC NOS. ME5154 AND ME5155)
Dear Mr. Gellrich:
The Commission has approved the enclosed exemption from the specific requirements of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.46 and 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix K, for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant, Unit Nos. 1 and 2. This action is in response to your application for a license amendment and exemption request dated November 23, 2009, to allow the use of M5 advanced alloy for fuel rod cladding and other assembly structural components.
A copy of the exemption is enclosed. The exemption has been forwarded to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
