Dear Mr. Jensen:
By letter dated August 21, 2009 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML092450590), Indiana Michigan Power Company submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) a relief request for the Donald C. Cook Nuclear Plant, Unit 1. The submittal requested NRC approval for visual examination of the pressurizer surge nozzle during system leak testing as an alternative to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section XI, Table IWB-2500-1 volumetric examination requirement or the enhanced visual examination requirement of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 50.55a(b)(2)(xxi), which may be performed instead of ultrasonic examination. By letter dated January 26, 2010 (ADAMS Accession No. ML100340590), you subsequently withdrew the relief request.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you that the above-cited relief request is being treated as withdrawn. NRC activities on the review have ceased and the associated Technical Assignment Control Number (TAC No. ME2165) has been closed.
