Acceptance Review completed for 1) Exemption Request and 2) License Amendment Request The NRC staff has reviewed your application dated January 30, 2009, with an Exemption Request and a License Amendment Request, as detailed below:
- 1. Request for Temporary Exemption from the Provisions of 10 CFR 50.46 and 10 CFR 50, Appendix K for Lead Fuel Assemblies (TAC Nos. ME0602 and ME0603).
- 2. Proposed Change Number (PCN)-589, Amendment Application Numbers 254 and 240, respectively for Units 2 and 3, Request to Revise Technical Specification 5.7.1.5, "Core Operating Limits Report (COLR)." (TAC Nos. ME0604 and ME0605).
The NRC staff has concluded the application provides sufficient technical information in sufficient detail to enable the NRC staff to proceed with its technical review and make an independent assessment regarding the acceptability of the proposed amendment in terms of the regulatory requirements, and the protection of the public health and safety and of the environment. If additional information is needed for the staff to complete its review, you will be advised by separate correspondence.
