GL 2008-01 Extension for PBNP Jack, Confirming our discussion earlier, this note confirms that on April 8, 2008, we discussed an extension of the PBNP response (Dockets 50-266/301) to GL 2008-01 of 30 days. The reasons for the extension are that:? FPLE has recognized that more rigorous and detailed walkdowns would be needed and that some of these walkdowns could not be completed in the 9-month period.? The issues associated with GL 2008-01 are evolving and the industry was notified late in the 90-day period that an alternative course of action was acceptable.

? The PBNP early fall 2008 Unit 1 refueling outage scope is complete, and further scoping is needed to determine if the detailed walkdowns can be completed during the outage.?
