Decommissioning Funding Statement of Intent Mr. Adams:

In support of our request for a 20-year license renewal for the Oregon State TRIGA Reactor, you requested a statement of intent regarding decommissioning funds. This letter serves as the statement of intent to assure decommissioning funding when it is deemed necessary by Oregon State University, an entity of the State of Oregon. When a decision is made to terminate the facility license and decommission the facility, the University will request legislative appropriation of funds, or otherwise provide funds sufficiently in advance of decommissioning to prevent delay of required activities. The current estimated cost of decommissioning is $12.2M. This estimate is based upon the requirements of 10 CFR 50 and the guidance found in NUREG-1307 (Rev. 12).
