SUMMARY
OF APRIL 24, 2007, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH CONSTELLATION ENERGY, LLC On April 24, 2007, at 2:00 p.m., an Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Joint News Center (Oswego County Airport) between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Constellation Energy, LLC (Constellation). The NRC requested the meeting with Constellation management to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of Nine Mile Point Units 1 and 2 for calendar year 2006.
The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Nine Mile Point Units 1 and 2 for the period between January 1 through December 31, 2006. The NRC presentations included a discussion of the Reactor Oversight Process, 2006 Nine Mile Point performance assessment results, and an overview of calendar year 2007 planned inspections.
As part of the annual assessment meeting, Constellation presented an overview of their performance and initiatives in selected areas. Members of the public and local press observed the meeting and were offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Constellations performance at Nine Mile Point and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
At the end of the meeting the NRC answered questions from the public and press. NRCs assessment letter can be found in ADAMS with an Accession Number of ML070610616.
