LETTER RECEIVED ON OCTOBER 16, 2006, REGARDING THE ESSENTIAL FISH HABITAT FOR LICENSE RENEWAL OF OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION (TAC # MC7625)
Dear Mr. Colosi:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) received your letter dated September 28, 2006, and associated comments on our essential fish habitat (EFH) assessment for Oyster Creek License Renewal. Because NRC mail is subjected to an irradiation process for the staffs protection, which delays receipt of mail by as much as two weeks, the letter was not delivered until the week of October 9, 2006. I was out of the office during that time, further delaying our receipt until October 16, 2006. NRC staff with knowledge and expertise on the Oyster Creek EFH assessment are currently out of the office on business. To ensure sufficient time to develop a suitable response to your comments, the NRC requests an extension to respond by December 15, 2006.
