OF PUBLIC SCOPING MEETINGS REGARDING THE REVIEW OF OYSTER CREEK NUCLEAR GENERATING STATION LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NO. MC7625)
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff conducted environmental scoping meetings regarding the review of the Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station license renewal application submitted by AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen). The public meetings were conducted on Tuesday, November 1, 2005, in the afternoon and evening at the Quality Inn in Toms River, New Jersey. Over 100 people attended the meetings. The attendees included representatives of the NRC staff, members of the public, Argonne National Laboratory, AmerGen, Exelon, local governments, and the local news media. Public comments and questions were mainly focused on the license renewal process, effects on marine life, safety and emergency preparedness, and waste disposal.
A list of meeting attendees is provided in Enclosure 1. Enclosures 2 and 3 contain the official corrected transcripts for the afternoon and evening sessions, respectively. Enclosures 4 and 5 contain the slides used in the NRCs presentation.
