SUMMARY
OF APRIL 28, 2006, CATEGORY 1 CLOSED MEETING WITH NUCLEAR MANAGEMENT COMPANY, LLC (NMC), TO DISCUSS SECURITY PLAN CHANGES (TAC NOS. MC8690 AND MC8691)
On April 28, 2006, a closed meeting was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and representatives of Nuclear Management Company, LLC (NMC) (the licensee), at NRC Headquarters, One White Flint North, 11555 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Security Plan changes at Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant (PINGP), Unit 1 and 2.
On July 25, 2005, PINGP submitted revision 1 to its security plan. The NRC staff requested additional information from the licensee in a letter dated March 1, 2006. The purpose of the meeting was to have a discussion on resolution of this request for additional information (RAI).
The meeting started with initial introductions and opening statements by representatives of NRC and NMC. Following this was the discussion on the questions which were submitted by the NRC staff. NMC will be providing the formal response to the RAI on the docket. Also, during the discussion, a general consensus was reached that in response to one of the NRC staff questions, NMC shall request an exemption to comply with the requirements of Title 10, Part 73.55 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Appendix B.
Members of the public were not in attendance since this was a closed meeting. An attendance list is provided in the enclosure. There were no slides shown. The handouts distributed during the meeting was safeguards information, and therefore was not entered into ADAMS.
