ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE NO. NPF-6 FOR ARKANSAS NUCLEAR ONE, UNIT 2
Dear Mr. Forbes:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has issued Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-6 for the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2). The renewed facility operating license has been issued on the basis of our review of your application dated October 14, 2003, as supplemented by letters submitted to the NRC through May 2, 2005. The Technical Specifications for ANO-2 were not amended as a result of our review. contains Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-6 with an attachment, Appendix A - Technical Specifications. Renewed Facility Operating License No. NPF-6 expires at midnight July 17, 2038.
The technical basis for issuing the renewed license is set forth in NUREG-1828, Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of the Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2, dated June 2005. The results of the environmental review for the issuance of the renewed license are given in NUREG-1437, Supplement Number 19, Generic Environmental Impact Statement for License Renewal of Nuclear Plants, Regarding Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2, dated April 2005.
J. Forbes Enclosure 2 is a copy of the Federal Register notice announcing the issuance of the renewed license. The original has been sent to the Office of the Federal Register for publication.
