Project No. 704-BWRVIP-18-A: BWR Vessel and Internals Project, BWR Core Spray Internals Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines Enclosed are five (5) copies of the report "BWRVIP-1 8-A: BWR Vessel and Internals Project, BWR Core Spray Internals Inspection and Flaw Evaluation Guidelines," EPRI Technical Report 1011469, February 2005. This report is being transmitted to the NRC as a means of exchanging information with the NRC for the purpose of supporting generic regulatory improvements related to inspection and flaw evaluation of intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) in BWR core spray internals.

The enclosed report is a revision of the original BWRVIP-18 previously submitted to the NRC.

The enclosed report incorporates changes proposed by the BWRVIP in response to NRC Requests for Additional Information, recommendations in the NRC Safety Evaluation (SE), and other necessary revisions identified since the previous publication of the report. All changes are marked with margin bars. The enclosed report includes the NRC SEs in appendices and the BWRVIP report number includes an "-A" suffix indicating that this version of the report has been reviewed and accepted by the NRC staff. The NRC acceptance for referencing this report in license renewal applications is provided in Appendix E. A summary of revisions made to the report is provided in Appendix F.

Please note that the enclosed report contains proprietary information. A letter requesting that the report be withheld from public disclosure and an affidavit describing the basis for withholding this information are provided as Attachment 1.
