Letter from Mr. George Vanderheyden (CCNPP) to Document Control Desk (NRC), dated December 5, 2003, "License Amendment Request:
Change to the Testing Requirements for Containment Spray Nozzles; Response to Request for Additional Information" Reference (a) proposed a change to Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 3.6.6.8.
Reference (c) responded to questions posed by Reference (b). This letter modifies the change proposed in Reference (a).
Instead of deleting the surveillance requirement for testing the containment spray nozzles, as proposed in Reference (a), we are now proposing to modify the surveillance requirement to require verification that spray nozzles are unobstructed following maintenance that could result in nozzle blockage (loss of Foreign Material Exclusion control). This change is shown on the attached markup of Surveillance Requirement 3.6.6.8 (Attachment 1).
The final Technical Specification page is provided in Attachment (2).
Appropriate details concerning the Surveillance Requirement will be added to the Technical Specification Bases.
The safety analysis and determination of significant hazards previously presented in Reference (a) remain valid for this proposed change.
