February 18, 2004 Mr. G. R. Peterson Vice President McGuire Nuclear Station Duke Energy Corporation 12700 Hagers Ferry Rd Huntersville, North Carolina 28078-8985

SUBJECT:

CORRECTED ISSUANCE OF RENEWED FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE AMENDMENTS NOS. 219 AND 201 FOR MCGUIRE NUCLEAR STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2

Dear Mr. Peterson:

On January 14, 2004, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission issued Amendment Nos. 219 and 201 for the renewed licenses for McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2. Subsequently, your staff identified an error in the Technical Specifications (TS) page 3.4.1-1 in that in ACTION B the acronym RCS for Reactor Coolant System was incorrectly typed in as RTS. It is clear that it should be written as RCS since Section 3.4 of the TS is entitled Reactor Coolant System (RCS) and the acronym was written as RCS in the preceding version of this TS page.

Therefore, please find enclosed corrected TS page 3.4.1-1 for Units 1 and 2. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.

Sincerely,

/RA/

Robert E. Martin, Senior Project Manager, Section 1 Project Directorate II Division of Licensing Project Management Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Docket Nos. 50-369 and 50-370
