McGuire Nuclear Station NRC Commitment Changes Per NEI-99-04 Commitment:
By letter dated August 17, 1994, McGuire submitted supplemental information to the NRC in response to Violation 369, 370/94-08-01, "Nonconservative unidentified reactor coolant leakage calculation."Section IX, "Upgrades to NRC Leakage Calculation Program" stated in part: "NC leakage calculations are currently being performed once every 24 hours2.777778e-4 days <br />0.00667 hours <br />3.968254e-5 weeks <br />9.132e-6 months <br />" and "The NC system engineer monitors the leakage values and related system parameters daily to determine current NC leakage status and on-going trends."
Revised Commitment:
This commitment was made prior to steam generator replacements. License amendment 175/157 dated May 5, 1997 revised the Technical Specifications to replace the Westinghouse Model "D" type preheat steam generators with feedring steam generators designed by Babcock and Wilcox.
McGuire is performing leakage calculations in accordance with Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement (SR) 3.4.13.1 which states, "Verify RCS Operational LEAKAGE is within limits by performance of RCS water inventory balance" on a 72 hour8.333333e-4 days <br />0.02 hours <br />1.190476e-4 weeks <br />2.7396e-5 months <br /> frequency.
