1 Public Policy Advocates LLC ("PPA") submits its Cover Sheet Application (the 2

"Application") for Allowance and Payment of Interim Compensation and Reimbursement of 3

Expenses for the Period January 1, 2002 through January 31, 2002 (the "Application Period").

4 In support of the Application, PPA respectfully represents as follows:

1. PPA is the Legislative Activities Consultant to the Official Committee of 6

Unsecured Creditors in the Pacific Gas and Electric Company ("Debtor") bankruptcy case. PPA 7

hereby applies to the Court for allowance and payment of interim compensation for services 8

rendered and reimbursement of expenses during the Application Period.

2. PPA billed a total of $6,000.00 in fees during the Application Period.

3. Accordingly, PPA seeks allowance of interim compensation in the total amount of 11 1

$5,100 at this time, which represents 85% of the fees for services rendered.

4. PPA has been paid a total of $20,416.12 for fees and expenses to date.

5. To date (through 1/31/02) PPA is owed as follows (including amounts owed 14 pursuant to this Application):

With regard to the copies of this Application served on counsel for the Debtor and 24 the Office of the United States Trustee, attached as Exhibit 1 hereto is an invoice for the 25 Application Period that complies with all Northern District of California Bankruptcy Local Rules 26 and Compensation Guidelines and the Guidelines of the Office of the United States Trustee.

27 28 'Payment of this amount would result in a holdback of $900.00.

Pursuant to this Court's "AMENDED ORDER ESTABLISHING INTERIM FEE 4 APPLICATION AND EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT PROCEDURE" which was entered on 5 or about November 8, 2001, the Debtor is authorized to make the payment requested herein 6 without a further hearing or order of this Court unless an objection to this Application is filed 7 with the Court by the Debtor or the United States Trustee and served by the fifteenth day of the 8 month following the service of this Application. If such an objection is filed, Debtor is 9 authorized to pay the amounts, if any, not subject to the objection. This Cover Sheet Application 10 was mailed by first class mail, postage prepaid, on or about February 28, 2002.

11 9. The interim compensation and reimbursement of expenses sought in this 12 Application is on account and is not final. Upon the conclusion of this case, PPA will seek fees 13 and reimbursement of the expenses incurred for the totality of the services rendered in the case.

14 Any interim fees or reimbursement of expenses approved by this Court and received by PPA will 15 be credited against such final fees and expenses as may be allowed by this Court.

PPA represents and warrants that its billing practices comply with all 17 Northern District of California Bankruptcy Local Rules and Compensation Guidelines and the 18 Guidelines of the Office of the United States Trustee. Neither PPA nor any members of PPA has 19 any agreement or understanding of any kind or nature to divide, pay over or share any portion of 20 the fees or expenses to be awarded to PPA with any other person or attorney except as among the 21 members and associates of PPA.

WHEREFORE, PPA respectfully requests that the Debtor pay compensation to PPA 2

as requested herein pursuant to and in accordance with the terms of the "AMENDED ORDER 3

ESTABLISHING INTERIM FEE APPLICATION AND EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT 4

PROCEDURE."
