On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Reference 1 to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status. Enclosure 1 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.1, Seismic. Reference 1 requires a "60-day response" in which each addressee must submit: (1) its intent to follow the developed guidance, or (2) an alternative approach including acceptance criteria. In accordance with Reference 2, the 60-day responses are due to the NRC by April 27, 2013.

L-2013-136 Page 2 Florida Power and Light Company, the licensee for the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, and the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant, Units 3 and 4, and its affiliates, NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC, the licensee for the Seabrook Station, NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC, the licensee for the Duane Arnold Energy Center, and NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC, the licensee for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, intends to respond to Enclosure 1 of Reference 1 by following the approach described in Reference 3 on the schedule provided in Reference 3.

This letter contains no new Regulatory Commitments and no revision to existing Regulatory Commitments.
