On March 12, 2012, the NRC staff issued Reference 1 requesting information pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations 50.54(f). Enclosure 2 of the Reference 1 request identifies the Requested Information associated with Near-Term Task Force (NTTF)

Recommendation 2.1 for Flooding. Item 1 of the Requested Information is for a Hazard NextEra Energy, Inc.

L-2013-017 Page 2 Reevaluation Report, which is to be provided for each plant site. Item 2 of the Requested Information is for an Integrated Assessment Report, which is to be provided for those plant sites where the reevaluated flooding hazard is not bounded by the current design basis. Further, Required Response 1 of Reference 1 Enclosure 2 directs that: 'Within 60 days of the date of the NRC's issuance of guidance on implementation details of the Integrated Assessment Report, including criteria for identifying vulnerabilities, submit an approach for developing an Integrated Assessment Report including criteria for identifying vulnerabilities."

Florida Power & Light Company, the licensee for the St. Lucie Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, and the Turkey Point Nuclear Plant, Units 3 and 4, and its affiliates, NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC, the licensee for the Seabrook Station, NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC, the licensee for the Duane Arnold Energy Center, and NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC, the licensee for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (hereafter referred to collectively as "NextEra"), submits the following 60-Day response to Required Response 1.

On November 30, 2012, the NRC issued the Reference 2 Interim Staff Guidance. NextEra adopts the Reference 2 guidance as our approach for developing the NTTF 2.1 flooding Integrated Assessment Report for those plant sites in our nuclear generating fleet where the reevaluated flooding hazard is not bounded by the current design basis flood.

NextEra also adopts the guidance provided by Reference 3 regarding the trigger conditions and scope of any required Integrated Assessment.

This letter contains no new Regulatory Commitments and no revision to existing Regulatory Commitments.
