Attachment L-13-311 Response to September 25, 2013 Request for Additional Information Regarding 10 CFR 50.55a Request RP-5 Page 1 of 1 The Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff information request is provided below in bold text and is followed by the FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company response.

On page 2 of Section 5, "Proposed Alternative and Basis for Use," of Enclosure D of the letter dated February 27, 2013, notes that comprehensive testing of the high pressure injection pumps will be performed each refueling outage instead of biennially for the fourth 10-year interval. It is stated in Section 7 that a similar relief request was authorized by the NRC for the third 1 0-year inservice testing interval at Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1. Provide actual time frequency (months) of each refueling outage at which the comprehensive testing of the high pressure injection pumps was performed during the third 1 0-year inservice testing interval.

Response

Begin and end dates for each refueling outage at which comprehensive high pressure injection pump testing was performed during the third ten-year inservice testing interval are provided in the table below. The table shows the actual time frequency (outage frequency) as the time in months from the beginning of a refueling outage to the beginning of the next refueling outage.
