Areas Inspected This routine, unannounced inspection involved 32 inspector-hours onsite in

' the areas of structural concrete, nuclear service water dam, construction status and licensee action on previous inspection findings.

Results Of the four areas inspected, no violations or deviation were identified.

Noncompliance 491/79-10-01, 492/79-10-01, 493/79-10-01,

" Placement of NSW Filter Materials At Densities Less Than Specified."

The inspector examined the licensee's responses dated July 20, 1979, November 26, 1979 and November 28, 1979 and implementation of the responses.

Filter materials placed at incorrect densities were removed and replaced.

Placement of filter materials has been completed.

Examination of test records on filter materials showed placed filters meet acceptance criteria. This item is closed.

Lakes, Dams and Canals - Review of Quality Records, Units 1, 2 and 3.

The inspector examined quality records for the coarse, transition and fine filters in the nuclear service water dam.

Acceptance criteria examined by the inspector appear in the following documents:

Specification CKS 1114.00-00-001, General Grading Work Records examined included, placement records, test data and associated nonconfornance reports for the coarse, fine and transition filters placed between June 1979 and October 1980.

No deviations or violations were identified.
