Division of Radiation Safety and Safeguards SUMMARY Scope:
This routine, announced inspection entailed the review of procedures, records, and operations for the control and accountability of special nuclear material possessed under NRC licenses.
The inspection included the examination of shipping and receiving documents, and the verification of the physical inventory through the sampling of fuel and nonfuel items containing special nuclear material.
Results:
In the areas inspected, no violations or deviations were identified.
The licensee had developed an adequate system of records and reports, and was conducting physical inventories of special nuclear material holdings in accordance with internal procedures and specified require-ments in 10 CFR Part 74. The licensee's procedural development for the control of special nuclear material demonstrated a hightened sense of accountability awareness.
