SUBJECT: CATAWBA NUCLEAR STATION - U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS ANNUAL INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000413/2012501 AND 05000414/2012501
Dear Mr. Henderson:
On December 31, 2012, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff completed its annual inspection of the Emergency Preparedness Program at the Catawba Nuclear Plant. This inspection began on January 1, 2012. Issuance of this letter closes Inspection Report Number 2012501. Inspection activities charged to these reports include conducting midcycle/end of cycle assessment activities, responding to technical questions from resident inspectors or licensee personnel, NRC headquarters review of emergency action level and emergency plan changes, and in some cases, performing traditional enforcement activities. Any observations and findings in these areas were provided to you via separate correspondence.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter, and your response, if any, will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room, or from the Publicly Available Records System (PARS) component of NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
