SUBJECT:

ASSESSMENT FOLLOW-UP LETTER FOR LIMERICK GENERATING

STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (REPORT 05000352/2014009 AND

05000353/2014009)

Dear Mr. Pacilio:

As a result of its continuous review of plant performance, the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) updated its assessment of Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2.

The NRCs evaluation consisted of a review of performance indicators and inspection results.

This letter informs you of the NRCs assessment of and its plans for a future inspection at your facility. This letter supplements, but does not supersede, the mid-cycle letter (NRC Inspection Report Nos. 05000352/2014006 and 05000353/2014006) issued on September 2, 2014.

On October 23, 2014, the NRC forwarded a letter (NRC Inspection Report Nos.

05000352/2014405 and 05000353/2014405) that stated the final significance determination of one or more greater-than-green inspection findings in the Security Cornerstone. The finding, which was identified in the second quarter of 2014, was previously documented and assessed in NRC Inspection Report Nos. 05000352/2014403 and 05000353/2014403, issued on July 29, 2014.

The NRC determined the performance at Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2, to be in the Regulatory Response Column of the Reactor Oversight Process Action Matrix beginning second quarter of 2014. Therefore, the NRC plans to conduct a supplemental inspection.

The NRC requests that your staff provide notification of your readiness for the NRC to conduct this supplemental inspection.

In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Web site at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room). Please contact Mr. Fred Bower at 610-337-5200 with any questions you have regarding this letter.

Sincerely,

/RA MLScott for/
