This routine, announced inspection was conducted in the area of the Physical Security Program for Power Reactors; specifically, Alarm Stations; Assessment Aids; Compensatory Measures; Lighting; Testing and Maintenance; Protected /

Vital Area Alarms; and Training and Qualification were reviewed.

Additionally, corrective actions to prior items (93-48-01 and 93-51-01) were reviewed. Also assessed was the status of the Security Upgrade Program.

PDR In the areas inspected, violations or deviations were not identified.

Review and observation of routine security operational activities during the course of the inspection verified that the licensee was in compliance with regulatory requirements and commitments of the approved Physical Security Plan.

The officers demonstrated an acceptable level of job knowledge and performance capability.

Further review confirmed delays in the implementation of the Security System Upgrade.

Additionally, the inspectors reviewed the licensee's corrective action to Violation No. 93-11-01, Failure to follow procedures.

The corrective actions appeared adequate and this violation will be closed.

Violation No. 93-48-01 will remain open to allow the Region Inspection Staff to monitor the licensee's extensive corrective actions.
