'J AN 2 51933 Docket No. 50-309 Mr. Charles D. Frizzle President Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company 83 Edison Drive Augusta, Maine 04336
Dear Mr. Frizzie:
SUBJECT: REPLY LETTER FOR INSPECTION REPORT NO. 50-309/92-09 This letter refers to your January 7,1993, correspondence, in respanse to our May 15, 1992, letter.
Thank you for informing us of the delay until April 30,1993, of the installation of a wet-pipe sprinkler system in the Drumming Area of the Fuel Building. We note that the installation of this sprinkler system was identified as a corrective action in your June 15,1992, letter that responded to the Notice of Violation associated with Fire Protection Procedures in our letter dated May 15, 1992. Your compensatory measure, to not store contaminated RCP Lube Oil in the Drumming Area until such time as the fixed suppression system is operable, appears appropriate. These actions will be examined in more detail during a future inspection of your licensed program.
..
Your cooperation with us is appreciated.
Sincerely,
, a U.
