This refers to the inspection conducted by this office during the period of November 13, 1986, through January 29, 1987, of your actions related to IE Bulletin No. 79-14 at the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant (Reference NRC Inspection Report No. 50-305/87002 dated March 5, 1987).

We have completed our evaluation of the findings identified during the inspection. Also, we are encouraged by the aggressive corrective actions you described during the February 13, 1987, enforcement conference and at the followup meeting on February 26, 1987, which indicate you recognize the significance of these findings. The violations identified during the inspection are specified in the enclosed Notice of Violation and-have been categorized as Severity Level IV's. A written response is required. We will need to evaluate the results.of your program to correct these findings.
